West Side Eagles Junior Cheer invites all girls from 2nd grade to 6th grade to join us in cheering on the West Side Eagles Junior Football league this Fall! Cheer Registration for the 2025 season is now open and will close June 20. Any girls who wish to sign up after June 20 will be charged a $25 late fee.

We will host a try-on day for the girls to be fitted for their uniform. This will be a Saturday in July. Please do your best to be there. We will share the set date after registration is complete. If your daughter is unable to attend, make arrangements with Coach Katie to get your daughter fitted prior to the fitting date.

Cheer Fees

All cheerleaders will pay $165. This will cover the cost of your child’s uniform, spandex, team jacket with name, bow and pom poms.

There will also be an additional $15 administrative fee.

Required Gear

1) Cheerleaders will need a white pair of cheer shoes for games. I recommend purchasing these from Academy Sports. It would be a good idea for the girls to try them on in store to make sure they fit correctly. 

2) Black sweatpants or joggers

3) Black long sleeve. These will be necessary when games get cold.

4) Black ankle socks.

 

Practice and Game Information

Cheer practices will start the first week of school. In the past, we have practiced twice a week, Mondays and Wednesdays. That will be the plan for the coming year - look out for any potential changes to the days. Practices will be 45 minutes each night. We will review cheers, go over jumps, and proper sideline etiquette. We may also add a stunting and dance for sidelines or halftime if the teams are showing readiness. Most practices will be held at Bishop Carroll outdoors. Please ensure your child has used the bathroom prior to practice, has had a snack prior, and has a water bottle. They may also want sunscreen or bug spray.

 

Football games run from the beginning of September until the end of October. While we do our best to cheer at home games whenever possible, some games will be away. In the past, we have cheered in Goddard, Andale, Andover, Derby, and Maize. We will cheer for each football team at least once. Games may run from an hour for the Flag & Rookie Tackle and up to 2 hours for the other grades.
